PLUM CITY - How long will Plum City regular season prep football winning streak continue? As long as the Blue Devils want it to as they were top form again Friday vs. Boyceville in a 26-0 shutout.
The Blue Devils ran 71 plays on offense, racking up 410 total yards, 281 of which came on the ground. Meanwhile Boyceville was limited to negative 5 yards rushing and only 97 yards of total offense despite being bigger up front.
"We just played our base (defense), but we were very physical," Plum City Coach Troy Ingli said to the Red Wing Republican-Eagle newspaper.
The Blue Devils scored once in the first quarter, a pair of touchdowns in the second and capped the night with a score in the third. The only touch of gray for the PC offense was three fumbles.
Two Plum City rushers had over 90 yards apiece - senior fullback Ryan Gilman and junior tailback Chase Luebker -- but on defense senior defensive end Tyler Churchill spent the night in the Bulldogs' backfield where he registered four sacks.
Boyceville drops to 1-1 overall while 2-0 PC plays their rivals Alma-Pepin in Pepin Friday to begin South Lakeland Conference play. The Eagles were 43-28 winners over Independence-Gilmanton Friday.
