LAS VEGAS - The Wisconsin Badgers go for their 13th straight season-opening victory on the road in Las Vegas tonight. The game against the University of Nevada-Las Vegas kicks off at 10 p.m. Central Time.

The Badgers come into the road contest against the Rebels ranked 12th. They have won six of their eight showdowns with UNLV. It's a veteran Badger team with 43 letter winners on the roster. Wisconsin's 18 returning starters are the most for any team in the Big Ten Conference. Since head coach Bret Bielema arrived on the Madison campus as a defensive coordinator, Wisconsin has won 57 of 77 games.

The Badgers gave scholarships this week to three walk-ons this week. Sophomore offensive tackle Ricky Wagner was rewarded, along with a pair of juniors – tight end Rob Korslin and long-snapper Kyle Wojta. Bielema was a walk-on before becoming a starter at Iowa. And he calls the awarding of scholarships one of his favorite days of the year. He said it was tough to choose the three players who received them – because of a number of other players were also worthy. All three recipients are from the state of Wisconsin. Korslin is from Brookfield Central, and can play at fullback as well as tight end. Wojta is from Madison La Follette, and he was the long snapper on punts a year ago. Bielema credited Wagner for bulking up and working hard.
