Bucky Badger's head returns unscathed

MADISON - Whoever stole Bucky Badger’s head had a change of heart.
The head of the famous mascot was stolen from a Madison apartment on Sunday night – but it was found outside the apartment yesterday morning, and it was not damaged.
According to police, one of several UW-Madison students who portray Bucky Badger had some friends over – and the 28-pound head was missing when he woke up on Labor Day. The student told officers he would not press charges if Bucky’s head was returned unscathed – and that’s exactly what happened.
Madison Police spokesman Joel DeSpain said it would have hard for the thieves to explain how they got it. The head is valued at four-thousand dollars.
