Indy Car racing to return to Milwaukee Mile
Wisconsin Sports-- Indy-Car racing will return to the Milwaukee Mile next year.
WEST ALLIS - Indy-Car racing will return to the Milwaukee Mile next year.
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel says the Indy Racing League will announce its 2011 schedule on Friday during a news conference at the track in West Allis – and it will include a Milwaukee date for the first time in two years.
The track’s former promoter defaulted and refused to pay hosting fees to both the Indy-League and NASCAR. And as a result, both racing organizations withdrew their previous Milwaukee dates for this year.
The Milwaukee Mile track has traditionally hosted open-wheel raccing for many years before the track's financial problems.
