Hardy again has big bat for Twins as they sweep KC

- J.J Hardy's bat was put to good use again for the Minnesota Twins as they edged the Kansas City Royals 5-4 Wednesday to push their lead in the AL Central to five-and-a-half games

MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnesota Twins edged Kansas City 4-to-3 at Target Field

Ex-Brewer J.J. Hardy had two hits including a homer, and Denard Span hit a two-run triple. Brian Duensing pitched eight innings of six-hit, one-run ball, striking out seven, to improve to 8-2. Matt Capps gave up two runs in the ninth, but held on for his 11th save with the Twins and 37th of the season overall.

Minnesota has won six in-a-row and finished 8-1 on its nine-game homestand. The Twins extended their lead to five-and-a-half games over the second-place Chicago White Sox in the American League Central.
