Full slate of weekend games for state's small college football teams
There's plenty of action to chose from among the state's small college football teams Saturday.
In college football, six WIAC teams will play non-conference games at home tomorrow. Top-ranked UW-Whitewater hosts Dakota State. Oshkosh entertains second-ranked Mount Union of Ohio. La Crosse is at home against number-six Mary Hardin Baylor. Eau Claire hosts number-nine Saint John’s of Minnesota. Platteville entertains nearby Dubuque. And UW-Stout hosts Jamestown State of North Dakota. River Falls is on the road at fifth-ranked Saint Thomas of Saint Paul. Stevens Point has tomorrow off. Eau Claire, Platteville, and Whitewater are all 1-0. The other five WIAC squads are all 0-and-1.
League play begins tomorrow in the Midwest Conference. Saint Norbert will host Beloit College. Ripon is at Lake Forest. Lawrence travels to Knox College. Carroll is at Illinois College. And Grinnell hosts Monmouth. Ripon, Carroll, and Grinnell all won their non-conference league openers last weekend. The other seven schools lost their openers.
In the Northern Athletic Conference, all four Wisconsin teams will play non-conference games after they all lost their openers a week ago. Lakeland hosts Carthage. Wisconsin Lutheran entertains Hope College. Maranatha Baptist is at Crown. And Concordia-Mequon plays at Bethel of Minnesota.
