South Dakota upends Minnesota 41-38
Minnesota Sports- The University of Minnesota's football team continued its struggles against teams from the Dakotas as the University of South Dakota beat the Golden Gophers 41-38 at TCF Stadium Saturday.
MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota's football team continued its struggles against teams from the Dakotas as the University of South Dakota beat the Golden Gophers 41-38 at TCF Stadium Saturday in front of over 49,000 fans.
The Coyotes' quarterback Deonte Warren threw for three TDs and scored on two touchdown runs of 25 and 36 yards late the ballgame as the Gophers rallied from a 28-10 deficit. Warren rushed for 81 yards and threw for over 352. Will Powell caught eight passes for 156 yards and two TDs for USD.
Minnesota was led by Adam Weber's three touchdown passes and two running touchdowns by Duane Bennett. Bennett again rushed for 100 yards while MarQueis Gray had his best statistical game as he caught nine passes for 91 yards and a touchdown. Weber threw for over 250 yards.
Minnesota dropped to 1-1 overall and plays 2-0 and No. 16 ranked Southern Cal next Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
