Wisconsin offensive coordinator Paul Chryst says his team is not being careful enough with the ball. He says the Badgers have had three turnovers inside the opponents’ five-yard line in their first two games. Tight end Lance Kendricks says the Badgers have not reduced their focus on the red zone offense at practice. If anything, he says the focus has stepped up.
Players were not officially available for interviews yesterday. But Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reporter Jeff Potrykus said kick returner David Gilreath was smiling and joking, a day after he was taken to a hospital with a concussion. Potrykus wrote that he ran into Gilreath and he was quote, “joking about the fact that his mother, who sprinted onto the field to check on her son, got her five minutes of fame on TV.” Gilreath was knocked out Saturday after catching a punt.
