Ellsworth volleyball now 13-1 after win over Hilltoppers

Ellsworth High School's volleyball team won its final non-conference tilt before MBC plays starts Thursday by downing Glenwood City 3-1.

GLENWOOD CITY - Ellsworth High School's volleyball team won its final non-conference tilt before MBC plays starts Thursday by downing Glenwood City 3-1 Monday evening.

The Panthers won the first two games Monday,25-18 and 25-23, but the next set didn't go their way as GC won 25-21.

The four-point loss fired up her team and it showed in Game 4. Ellsworth won 25-11 in the final game.

Allison Freier tallied seven aces, five of which came in Game 4. Two of Abbey Ristow's four aces also came in the final game.

Kayla Christopherson led Ellsworth with seven kills while Freier followed with six.

Ellsworth is 13-1 on the season and opens Middle Border Conference play Thursday with a home match against Amery.
