EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - The Minnesota Vikings added wide receiver Hank Baskett to their roster on Tuesday. Baskett is en route to the Twin Cities and will sign with the team today.
The Vikes will have to release a player to make room on the 53-man roster. The 28-year-old Baskett was let go by the Philadelphia Eagles earlier Tuesday.
The move doesn't necessarily mean the Vikings are out of the Vincent Jackson sweepstakes, but the team needed another wideout with Percy Harvin dealing with a strained right hip. A report on Yahoo Sports late last night indicated the Vincent Jackson deal was most likely not going to happen.
