MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota football team will be without kick returner and receiver Troy Stoudermire for Saturday night's game against Northern Illinois.

Head coach Tim Brewster has suspended Stoudermire for "conduct detrimental to the team." Brewster would not elaborate on the nature of the offense. Stoudermire ranks second in the Big Ten in average kickoff return yardage this season. Sophomore Bryant Allen is expected to take over the duties.

There are reports in the Twin Cities media that Stoudermire is planning on leaving the team. He reportedly stated on his Facebook page ""Troy Stoudermire is no longer a gopher (and) ready to take my talent to a top d-1 school where I will be appreciated and respected as a player!" Although nothing official has been reported from the U.

The Gophers and Huskies kick off at 7:30 on Saturday night at TCF Stadium. The game will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.
