Ellsworth Invitational Cross Country meet today
The annual Ellsworth High School Invitational cross country meet is today at 4 p.m. The finish line is located behind the bus garage at Ellsworth High School, across from Fuller-Symes Field.
The annual Ellsworth High School Invitational cross country meet is today at 4 p.m. The finish line is located behind the bus garage at Ellsworth High School, across from Fuller-Symes Field.
Nine teams will take part in the meet. Besides the host Panthers, there will be fellow Pierce County teams in Prescott and Spring Valley. There will be other Middle Border Conference schools like Amery, Osceola and Durand. There's also area schools like St. Croix Central, Lake City, Minn. and Mondovi.
The boys and girls races will features some of the best runners in the area like Prescott's Victoria Simones and Spring Valley's Breanna Colbenson along with St. Croix Central's Brett Johnson, Prescott's Cole Hauenstein and Durand's Jed Dodge. The team competitions will be very competitive as well between Ellsworth, SCC and Amery in the boys meet and Osceola, Prescott and Mondovi in the girls' meet.
Last year Ellsworth's girls team won the meet title while Central edged Osceola by a point to win the boys' meet. Both Colbenseon and Johnson are defending race champions.
