LONDON - The Timberwolves opened their exhibition season with an impressive 111-92 victory over the defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers.
Newcomer Martell Webster led the Wolves with 24 points, while fellow newcomer Michael Beasley poured in 21. Kevin Love added 11 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out eight assists. The Lakers played star player Kobe Bryant only six minutes in the game.
The Timberwolves will play in Paris tomorrow afternoon against the Knicks in their second preseason game of the year.
