Panthers hand Osceola first game losses despite losing match
Osceola High School's volleyball hadn't lost so much as a game in Middle Border Conference play this season. But Ellsworth handed the Chieftains their first defeats and pushed them to five games despite losing 3-2.
OSCEOLA - Osceola High School's volleyball hadn't lost so much as a game in Middle Border Conference play this season. But Ellsworth handed the Chieftains their first defeats and pushed them to five games despite losing 3-2.
Ellsworth won Game 1, but dropped the next two before winning Game 4. In Game 5, the Chieftains won decisively 15-4 to improve to 17-1 overall. Osceola and Somerset are now both tied for first in the conference and will play next Tuesday to decide the league title.
Kayla Christopherson notched a team-high 11 kills. Claire Tingelhoff added nine kills for Ellsworth. Jessy Tingelhoff led the Panthers with 25 assists.
Ellsworth hopes their good play continues for Tuesday's conference finale in Durand.
