Campbell finishes tied for 31st, Danielson, Prairie win D-2 titles

Ellsworth's Shannon Campbell was part of a remarkable day at the WIAA State Golf Meet Tuesday at University Ridge Golf Course.

MADISON - Ellsworth's Shannon Campbell was part of a remarkable day at the WIAA State Golf Meet at University Ridge Golf Course.

Campbell, in fact, a had good day on the course, shooting an 18-hole 95 which improved upon her 36th place showing after the first round, moving her up to 31st overall in her first-ever state meet. Her scores on the back nine secured and improved overall score.

Racine Prairie edged out Madison Edgewood by a single stroke, 668-669 one of the closest state meets ever, and dethroned the nine-time champion.

Osceola's Casey Danielson repeated as state champion by shooting one of the best two-round scores in state history, a pair of three under par 69s to six under for the meet. After the Osceola sophomore finished Edgerton's Brooke Farrell, who shot one over par and Prairie's Nikki Isaacson, who's third place showing propelled her team to the top spot.

In Division-One, Waunakee won the title by five strokes over Milton. Defending champion Middleton took third. Ashton Stair of Milton won the individual D-I crown at 140. Defending champ Emily Joers of Waukesha took second at 143.
