PRESCOTT - Durand High School's football team had more riding on the game but that didn't stop Prescott from giving their all on Senior Night at Laney Field. Unfortunately their all wasn't enough to beat the Panthers as Durand won 22-1 in overtime.
Durand clinches a playoff berth with the win while the Cardinals drop to 2-6 and lose another close game.
Joe Smith's 73-yard run from scrimmage put Prescott ahead 7-0 in the first quarter and Sam Carpenter's five-yard TD run tied the score at 14-14, sending the contest to an extra session.
Smith scored again on a 25-yard run to put the Cardinals in front but Durand scored on a 25-yard pass from Joe Gruber to Zach Bauer. The Panthers went for two and the win and scored when Ryan Weisenback's pass found Andrew Hartmann in the endzone.
