MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee Brewers general manager Doug Melvin expects to bring four managerial candidates back for second interviews. And team owner Mark Attanasio will be involved in those talks.

Melvin told the Journal-Sentinel he finished interviewing eight candidates this week as possible replacements for Ken Macha. He said some of the reported names are right, and some aren’t right. Media reports have identified six candidates who were said to be interviewed – former Seattle and Arizona manager Bob Melvin, former Brewers’ infielder and Washington Nationals’ coach Pat Listach, Angels’ bench coach Ron Roenicke, Dodgers’ minor league skipper Tim Wallach, White Sox bench coach Joey Cora, and former Cleveland manager Eric Wedge – who became the new skipper at Seattle this week.

Milwaukee Brewers’ pitcher Manny Parra had surgery yesterday to fix a small tear in the labrum of his left hip. Team doctor William Raasch performed the operation in Milwaukee. Parra will undergo rehab at his winter home in Roseville California, and he’s expected to be ready for spring training. The 27-year-old left-hander went 3-10 this past season with a 5.02 ERA. He started 16 games and made 26 relief appearances, while pitching with occasional discomfort in the hip where he had the surgery.
