Alex Ovechkin had the lone goal at 18:24 of the third to break up the shutout for Washington. Michal Neuvirth stopped 15 shots for the Caps, who had won two straight.

The Wild continue a five-game homestand on Saturday on against the Chicago Blackhawks.
