No. 4 ranked Badger wrestlers now 4-0
Wisconsin Sports-- The University of Wisconsin wrestling team went 3-0 during the weekend at the fifth annual ACC Challenge at North Carolina.
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The University of Wisconsin wrestling team went 3-0 during the weekend at the fifth annual ACC Challenge at North Carolina.
The fourth-ranked Badgers defeated the Tar Heels, UT-Chattanooga, and No. 15 Virginia Tech with a total of 76 points. Wisconsin beat Virginia Tech 24-19, North Carolina 27-3 and UT-Chattanooga 25-16.
Five Wisconsin wrestlers went unbeaten during the weekend, and are now 4-0 on the young season. They are Tyler Graff, Andrew Howe, Ben Jordan, Travis Rutt, and Eric Bugenhagen.
UW opened its season Friday with a win over UNC-Greensboro 34-12.
Wisconsin hits the mat again Dec.3 and 4 in the Cliff Keen Invitational in Las Vegas. The Badgers' next dual meet is on Dec. 11 vs. Northern Iowa at the UW Field House in Madison with a start time of 7 p.m. The Badgers will wrestle Michigan the following day at 1 p.m., also at the UW Field House.
