Gopher volleyball team hosts NCAA regional again

The No. 15 University of Minnesota volleyball team, fresh off of its Saturday night upset of No. 7 Penn State, will play at home to begin the NCAA Tournament this weekend.

MINNEAPOLIS - The No. 15 University of Minnesota volleyball team, fresh off of its Saturday night upset of No. 7 Penn State, will play at home to begin the NCAA Tournament this week.

The Gophers earned the No. 10 overall seed in the 64-team field and will host unseeded North Dakota State on Friday night at the U of M Sports Pavilion at 7 p.m. The Gophers are 24-8 on the year, while NDSU is 20-10 The winner of that game will move on to second-round play on Saturday to take on the winner of Friday's first game between Iowa State and Creighton. That match is 4:30 p.m. on Friday, also at the Sports Pavilion.

Minnesota advanced to the Final Four of last year's national tournament.
