MADISON - The University of Wisconsin men’s basketball team gave North Carolina State its worst loss in 11 years last night. The Badgers crushed the Wolfpack 87-48 at the Kohl Center in the Big Ten-ACC Challenge.

The Badgers had a 23-0 run late in the first half and early in the second, holding N.C. State scoreless for over 10 minutes. Guard Jordan Taylor said the Badgers were more aggressive than they were last Sunday when they lost to Notre Dame. Taylor scored 21 points, and Jon Leuer led Wisconsin with 22 points and 11 rebounds. The Badgers shot 50-percent, while holding the Wolfpack to 31-percent from the floor. Scott Wood had 13 points for North Carolina State, which suffered its most lop-sided defeat since a 46-point drubbing at Maryland in 1999. They fell to 4-2.

Wisconsin has still not lost back-to-back games since January of 2009. And they’re 70-5 at home against non-conference opponents in the Bo Ryan era. The Badgers are now 5-2, and will host South Dakota on Saturday.
