DALLAS - Shawn Marion led a strong effort by the reserves with 16 points and eight rebounds as the Mavericks topped the Timberwolves 100-86 in Dallas.
Jose Juan Barea added 14 points and Jason Terry tallied 12 as the bench provided 59 points in all for Dallas Michael Beasley netted 16 points for Minnesota, which has lost five in-a-row to drop to 4-14 overall. Kevin Love compiled 12 points and 15 boards for the T'wolves in defeat. The Mavs have won seven straight to improve to 14-4.
The Wolves assigned point guard Jonny Flynn to the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA Development League yesterday. Flynn underwent off-season hip surgery and has missed the entire season so far for the Wolves. He will play in at least one game for the Skyforce to get back up to game speed. Sioux Falls hosts teams from Iowa and Reno this weekend.
