SUPERIOR - One man was killed Wednesday morning in an industrial accident at the Burlington Northern-Santa Fe Railway’s taconite plant in Superior.
43-year-old Kelly Yadon died in an industrial mishap. When rescuers found Yadon, they said he was pinned between two steel beams next to a conveyor belt. And they used equipment to pull the man from under one of the teams. They used CPR to try-and-revive him. But that failed, and Yadon died at the scene. He had worked at the plant for about five years.
Officials were called to the plant around 6:30 a.m. in Superior’s Allouez Bay neighborhood.
Railroad spokeswoman Amy McBeth said they were saddened by the incident, and their deepest sympathies go out to all involved. The company is investigating the accident, along with Superior Police, the Douglas County medical examiner, and the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
