Boy Scout comes to rescue of elderly woman

When Boy Scout Nicholas Verhagen came to the door, Marie Krause said she couldn't get up.

When Boy Scout Nicholas Verhagen came to the door, Marie Krause said she couldn't get up.

Verhagen did what Boy Scouts are supposed to do -- he helped the elderly woman.

Someone called 911, the teenager slipped through a cut in the woman's screen door on Sunday and got inside to do what he could do for the Grand Chute woman.

Marie Krause is still getting help. Fire department Lt. Robert Olson and his daughter have fixed the torn screen door for the woman. Next, Olson says, he will fix her doorbell.

Olson says if the teenager hadn't spotted the problem, Marie Krause may have been stuck there for a long time.
