LOUISVILLE, Ken. - Ellsworth's Morgan Place recorded her 10th All-American finish in an NCAA running event as she placed fifth in the Division II women's cross country meet Saturday.

It's the third time in as many seasons she has attained All-American status. She's the first UMD athlete in any sport to receive All-American honors seven times in a career, and also the only individual to earn All-American honors for cross country three times.

Place ran the 6K course in 21:13. It's her best showing at the national meet. Junior Neely Spence of Shippensburg, Pa. College won the individual championship in a time of 20.41. Grand Valley State (Mich.) University captured the team title with 66 points.

Place will get ready for indoor track season, which begins in January.
