MINNEAPOLIS - Trevor Mbakwe scored 13 points with 13 rebounds, leading No. 20 Minnesota to a 66-58 comeback win over Akron on Wednesday evening at Williams Arena.
Rodney Williams also had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Blake Hoffarber joined the 1,000-point club with 13 points. Hoffarber hit his 1000th point on a free throw in the first half.
The win was the fourth straight for the Golden Gophers, who are now 10-1. Minnesota returns to action on December 23rd at home against South Dakota State.
