Bucks whip Lakers without Jennings 98-79
Wisconsin Sports-- The Milwaukee Bucks ended a three-game losing streak last night with a 98-79 victory over the Lakers in Los Angeles.
LOS ANGELES - The Milwaukee Bucks ended a three-game losing streak last night with a 98-79 victory over the Lakers in Los Angeles.
Earl Boykins scored a season-high 22 points off the bench, as the Bucks ended six straight losses to the Lakers. They also snapped LA’s five-game overall winning streak. The Lakers were up by five with just under eight minutes left. But Boykins made a three-pointer to start an 8-0 Milwaukee run. And the Bucks scored the game’s final nine points to seal their victory.
John Salmons had 20 points and six assists, as the Bucks improved to 11-and-16. Kobe Bryant scored 21 for the Lakers, before he was ejected with 2:07 left. He got two quick technicals for arguing about a charging call in which he hit Milwaukee’s Andrew Bogut. Coach Scott Skiles said the Bucks played their best defense of the year in the second half, when they held the Lakers to just 33 points.
Boykins said he played with a lot more confidence than in Monday night’s loss at Portland. He and Keyon Dooling are replacing point guard Brandon Jennings, who’s out with a broken foot. The Bucks continue their Western road swing tomorrow night at Sacramento.
