Panthers win Minnesota duals tournament
The Ellsworth High School wrestling team easily made their way to the title of the Trinity Lutheran Academy Tournament last weekend.
EAGAN, Minn. - The Ellsworth High School wrestling team easily made their way to the title of the Trinity Lutheran Academy Tournament last weekend.
EHS won four dual meets, three in pool action plus the championship match. The No. 2 ranked Panthers downed St. Croix Lutheran 84-0, Chaska 51-13 and Northwood-Young America 63-9.
In the championship match Ellsworth beat Lakeville South 48-23.
Five Ellsworth wrestlers came away with undefeated records in the tournament, including Jens Lantz at 103 pounds, Roarke Langer at 125, D.J. Yarwood at 140, Levi Kuesel at 152 and Tanner Eggenberger at 160. Finishing with one loss were Brad Cain at 112, Brent Stockwell at 119, Dan Langer at 130, Austin Welch 135, Noah McLay at 171, Parker Hines at 189 and Chase Westfield at 215. Finishing 2-2 were Logan Kemmerer at 145 and Luke Alabarado at 285.
Ellsworth's dual meet record is 7-0 but the Panthers will now compete individually at the Bi-State Classic in La Crosse next Wednesday and Thursday.
