(Update) Rodgers says two concussions won't affect the way he plays

GREEN BAY - Aaron Rodgers says he won’t change the way he plays, despite getting two concussions this season.

The Green Bay Packers’ quarterback returned to practice Wednesday for the first time since getting his latest concussion Dec. 12 at Detroit. Rodgers wore a shock-absorbing helmet – which his teammates ribbed him for – and he threw the ball with strength and confidence during the part of the practice that was open to reporters.

Rodgers is getting ready for one of the biggest games of his career on Sunday against the New York Giants at Lambeau Field. The Packers must win, or they’ll be eliminated from playoff contention. Rodgers will have to deal with a Giants’ defense which ranks second in the NFL overall and second against the pass. He said the focus will be on protecting the ball and not give the defenders consistent rushing lanes. New York defensive ends Justin Tuck and Osi Umenyiora each have 10 sacks this season.

Meanwhile, Packers’ linebacker Frank Zombo did not practice Wednesday. But there’s still a chance he can play Sunday as he gets over a knee injury. Nick Collins was limited at practice with an injured rib, but he expects to play against the Giants. Linebackers Clay Matthews, Erik Walden and Diyral Briggs were also limited.

Green Bay’s offensive line will have its biggest test of the season on Sunday, when the Packers host the New York Giants. The line has received some criticism after giving up 13 sacks in its last three games. The Giants are second in the NFL with 42 sacks. Defensive ends Osi Umenyiora and Justin Tuck have 10 apiece, and rookie back-up end Jason Pierre-Paul has 4 1/2 sacks.

Meanwhile, Packers’ rookie tackle Bryan Bulaga says he wants to atone for two sacks he gave up in the final series in last Sunday night’s loss at New England. He stayed home on one play as the line shifted right, allowing linebacker Dane Fletcher to get an easy sack of Matt Flynn. And on the final play, Bulaga’s man sacked Flynn – but the quarterback stepped into the path when he thought Bulaga had him far enough out of the way.

But Bulaga took full responsibility for that. They were two mistakes in an otherwise strong rookie season for Green Bay’s first-round draft choice from Iowa.
