UW men knock down 17 treys to rout Coppin State

MADISON - The University of Wisconsin men's basketball team set a school record for long-range bombing, sinking 17 three-pointers in an 80-56 rout of Coppin State Thursday.

Senior Jon Leuer got off to a hot start by hitting his first four from outside the arc. He finished with 19 points as the Badgers improved their record to 10-2. Junior point guard Jordan Taylor also scored 19, while grabbing seven rebounds, handing out six assists and not committing a turnover. In all, the Badgers connected on 17 of 38 three-point shots.

The victory was a warm-up for the Big Ten Conference opener next Monday at home against Minnesota.
