PHS boys win SSP tourney title, Cardinal girls suffer first loss
Prescott High School boys' basketball team won the South St. Paul Holiday Tournament title after crushing Park of Cottage Grove 71-55 Wednesday. The PHS girls' team however, took its first loss of the season.
SOUTH ST. PAUL - Prescott High School boys' basketball team won the South St. Paul Holiday Tournament title after crushing Park of Cottage Grove 71-55 Wednesday. The PHS girls' team however, took its first loss of the season.
The same Wolfpack of Park beat the Cards' 68-45 in the championship game of the same tournament.
The Prescott boys were led by Billy Brookshaw's 19 points and Karl Stenerson's 14 points. The two wins helped PHS go above .500 at 4-3 overall.
The Prescott girls only trailed Park 33-30 at halftime but were outscored 35-12 in the second half. The Wolfpack had three players in double figures led by Sydney Lamberty's 16 points.
