DETROIT - Brett Favre says he’ll definitely retire this time, after completing his two-year contract with Minnesota on the bench.
He reportedly passed a test for his concussion from two weeks ago – but the Vikings still left him inactive in a 20-13 loss at Detroit yesterday. The 41-year-old Favre said the year didn’t work out the way he hoped, but it was still a great ride. And he knows there are some fans who believe he’ll try to come back with somebody for his 21st NFL season. Sixteen of those years were in Green Bay.
Rookie Joe Webb started in Favre’s place yesterday, and threw for 148 yards and an interception. The Vikings ended up 6-10. But they were 3-3 under interim coach Leslie Frazier. And the Minneapolis Star-Tribune says Frazier will become the permanent coach either today or tomorrow.
Shaun Hill threw for a 258 yards and a touchdown for the Lions, who also finished 6-and-10. They ended the season with their first four-game winning streak since 1999.
