MADISON - The Wisconsin men’s basketball team used a 13-0 run in the second half to get past Michigan at home last night, 66-50.
The Badgers trailed by two at the break. But Jordan Taylor hit a trio of three-pointers early in the second half to go up by five – and Wisconsin never looked back.
Coach Bo Ryan started Tim Jarmusz and Rob Wilson in place of Mike Bruesewitz and Josh Gasser, who have struggled on offense lately. But it was Taylor who provided the spark-plug, and he scored a game-high 20 points. Jon Leuer added 17, as the Badgers recovered from a loss at Illinois last Sunday and improved to 2-1 in the Big Ten and 12-3 overall.
Wisconsin out-shot Michigan 48-39 percent, and out-rebounded the Wolverines 26-20. Zack Novak scored 15 for Michigan, which fell to 1-2 in the conference and 11-4 overall. Wisconsin’s next game is Tuesday night at Michigan State.
