Leah Cotton came off the bench to net 18 points for the Gophers, while Iowa's Kachine Alexander of Minneapolis returned to her home state and scored 20 points. Kamille Wahlin of Crookston chipped in with 14 for the Hawkeyes, who trailed by nine at halftime.

Minnesota is now 8-8 on the season and 0-3 in the Big Ten. The Gophers visit rival Wisconsin on Sunday.
