GREEN BAY - Wisconsin-Green Bay got 17 points from Bryquis Perine in a 69-64 win over Wisconsin-Milwaukee's Panthers.

Rahmon Fletcher added 13 points for the Phoenix who improved their record to 8-9, including 2-3 in the Horizon League. The Panthers dropped below .500, also at 8-9. They are 3-3 in conference play. Steve Baker's layup with 7:21 to go gave Green Bay its biggest lead of the game, 58-40, and completed a 19-3 run by the Phoenix to put it out of reach. Kaylon Williams led the Panthers with 14 points. Anthony Hill had a dozen points and a dozen rebounds.

Pitt opened a 16-point first-half lead, then held off the Marquette Golden Eagles 89-81 in a Big East Conference game. The number-five ranked Panthers improved their record to 15-1, including 3-0 in the conference. The two teams were tied at 26 when Pitt went on a 22-6 run. Marquette had to play from behind the rest of the way. It was the first conference loss for Marquette and the Golden Eagles record falls to 11-5 overall. Darius Johnson-Odom led Marquette scoring with 20, but he had plenty of help. Dwight Buycks scored 19 and Jimmy Butler 17. Marquette lost despite committing on two turnovers. Pitt hit 10-of-18 shots from beyond the three-point line.

The Green Bay Packers already defeated Philadelphia on its home turf in the season opener. Other than that, the Packers weren’t terribly successful on the road this year. They will have to win three road games in the playoffs if they hope to make it to the Super Bowl. Both teams bring 10-6 records into today’s 2:30 p.m. kickoff. The Packer defense has to stop the big play. Philadelphia tied for the lead league with 80 plays of 20 yards or more. Despite a mediocre running game, Green Bay brings a potent offense of its own into Lincoln Financial Field. Aaron Rodgers is an elite quarterback and top target Greg Jennings gained more yards on receptions in the last 11 games than any other NFL receiver – one thousand-82. Looming in the back of the minds for most Packer supporters is the 2004 playoff game in Philadelphia where the Eagles converted a fourth-and-26 late in the final quarter that led to a game-winning field goal for the Eagles in that 20-17 decision sending Green Bay home.
