Two Bay City youths got an opportunity to meet a current Minnesota Viking thanks to selling popcorn. Dalton Huppert and John Flynn finished in the top 10 of 15,000 boys in the Northern Star Council Cub Scouts. Their reward was meeting offensive tackle Phil Loadholt Dec. 18 at a Cub Scouts Base Camp near Fort Snelling in St. Paul. Huppert, 11, a fifth grade Webelo, earned the most sales with $4,250. Flynn, age nine, a Bear, was sixth with $3,178. Both belong to Pack 9003. Besides the encounter, scouts also enjoyed indoor archery, climbing walls and a space simulator. Kathy Huppert, Dalton’s mother, praised the six-foot-eight, 330-pound lineman for being gracious and accommodating the entire day.
