Blue Devils win in overtime over Elk Mound

Plum City put itself in a tie for second place in the Dunn-St. Croix Conference after beating Elk Mound at home in overtime 60-58 Saturday afternoon.

PLUM CITY - Plum City put itself in a tie for second place in the Dunn-St. Croix Conference after beating Elk Mound at home in overtime 60-58 Saturday afternoon.

Chad Fox hit the game-winning shot as time expired in overtime.

“It was just barely off (his) hand when the buzzer was ringing,” Plum City coach Paul Churchill said to the Red Wing Republican-Eagle. “It was awesome.”

Chase Luebker scored a season-high 30 points. He came up big in the fourth quarter, Churchill said, and he hit four straight free throws in overtime.

Tyler Churchill scored 15 points and pulled down nine rebounds.

Plum City (6-4 overall, 5-2 Dunn-St. Croix) will take on Spring Valley at home Tuesday. Both teams are tied for second while Colfax is in first place with a 6-1 record.
