MILWAUKEE - The Washington Wizards are now 0-and-20 on the road this season, after the Milwaukee Bucks beat them 100-to-87 last night at the Bradley Center. The Bucks evened their home record at 9-9.
The Wizards had a one-point lead midway through the third quarter, but Keyon Dooling hit a three-pointer to put Milwaukee in front for good. Dooling had a season-high 23 points. Corey Maggette scored 21. And he made all seven of his free throws, as the Bucks out-scored the Wizards 25-15 at the charity stripe. Guard John Salmons missed the game with a sore right hip. Drew Gooden played 21 minutes on his injured left foot – and he called the victory “huge” as the Bucks played the first of three straight games against teams with losing records.
Andray Blatche led Washington with 23 points, as the Wizards fell to 12-28. Milwaukee improved to 15-and-24. Guard Earl Boykins says the Bucks have a chance to make up a little ground the next few days. Tomorrow night, the Bucks will play at Cleveland – the team with the NBA’s worst record.
