UW women's hoops rallies from 14 down to beat Minnesota
Regional Sports-- The University of Wisconsin women's basketball team came back from a 14-point halftime deficit to beat Minnesota last night, 71-63 at Williams Arena.
MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Wisconsin women's basketball team came back from a 14-point halftime deficit to beat Minnesota last night, 71-63 at Williams Arena.
Lin Zastrow gave the Badgers the lead with a three-point play with 4:37 left. And Wisconsin never looked back. Zastrow had 21 points and 12 rebounds. Alyssa Karel also had 21 points for Wisconsin, which shot 71-percent in the second half and 50-percent for the night. The Gophers offense shot just 20-percent in the second half, which led to a 19-point half. Leah Cotton scored 24 points for Minnesota, which is still winless in Big Ten play at 0-6.
The Golden Gophers are now 8-11 overall. The Badgers improved to 5-2 in the conference and 10-9 overall. They’ll host Illinois on Sunday. The U is at Michigan State, also on Sunday.
