Gopher wrestlers beat Purdue 26-15
The University of Minnesota wrestling team defeated Purdue Friday 26-15 in a Big Ten conference dual meet.
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The University of Minnesota wrestling team defeated Purdue Friday 26-15 in a Big Ten conference dual meet.
The No. 5 ranked Gophers were led by wins from Zach Sanders (125), David Thorn (133), Mike Thorn (141), Matt Mincey (149), Scott Glasser (174) and Tony Nelson (HWT). The meet started in the lower weight and the U built up a 20-0 lead on the No. 23 Boilermakers. David Thorn had a technical fall and Mike Thorn and pin in 3:31.
Minnesota improves to 11-3 overall and 2-0 in the Big Ten. They wrestle at No. 15 Illinois on Sunday.
