Panthers' offense stymied by Lake City

A night after surrendering 83 points in a loss at Goodhue, the Lake City High School boys' basketball team suffocated the visiting Ellsworth and held them 16 points below their season average Saturday.

LAKE CITY, Minn. - A night after surrendering 83 points in a loss at Goodhue, the Lake City High School boys' basketball team suffocated the visiting Ellsworth and held them 16 points below their season average Saturday.

Ellsworth scored just 16 points in the second half and Jimmy Miska paced the Panthers with 12 points. No one else reached double figures.

Nick Bobb finished 8-for-8 from the floor, with all his shots coming from close range. The Lake City senior scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Teammate Kurt Brown added 11 points and six rebounds. Ben Schramski chipped in 13 points for the Tigers. Lake City, 6-7 overall, finished 20 of 33 (60.6 percent) from the floor.

Ellsworth, 7-4 overall, plays Tuesday at Baldwin-Woodville.
