MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee Bucks’ point guard Brandon Jennings has suffered a setback in his recovery from a broken left foot. He was hoping to get medical clearance and return to full contact at practice yesterday. But neither happened after he was examined yesterday, and Jennings will be out longer than expected.
He was originally supposed to be out 4-to-6 weeks to repair a broken bone in his foot. But the six-week period ends next Monday, and coach Scott Skiles made it clear that Jennings will need to ease his way back to the lineup once he starts fully practicing again. He’s doing some running at the moment. Jennings has missed 17 games in his second season with the Bucks. The team is 6-and-11 in that stretch. And they’re 16-26 on the year as they get ready to host Atlanta tonight.

The Bucks have added some depth at the guard spot by signing Garrett Temple to a 10-day contract. He played three games with the San Antonio Spurs this season, and he was playing for Erie in the NBA’s Development League when Milwaukee picked him up. Bucks’ starting guards Brandon Jennings and John Salmons are both out with injuries. Jennings had foot surgery in late December, and Salmons has missed the last four games with a strained right hip. Salmons did not practice yesterday. And neither did forward Drew Gooden, who has missed two games with an injured left foot.
