Coach Mike McCarthy says the team will have full-scale workouts in pads today and tomorrow, with a lighter practice on Sunday. The Packers said linebackers Erik Walden and Frank Zombo would not have been able to practice yesterday due to their injuries. But McCarthy says everyone should be able to do at least something on the practice field today. Meanwhile, the Steelers did practice yesterday.
Pittsburgh Center Maurkice Pouncey sat out because of the ankle injury he suffered in last Sunday’s AFC Championship win over the New York Jets. One of his teammates had said Pouncey would not be able to play in the Super Bowl. But he backed off from those comments yesterday, and the team is not ruling him out. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette said Pouncey has a broken bone in his left ankle, along with a sprain. Starting corner Bryant McFadden also missed yesterday’s practice with a strained abdomen.
