(Blaine, MN) -- TwinsFest 2011 opens this afternoon (4-9:30pm) at a new, smaller location -- the National Sports Center in Blaine. The three-day annual event had to be moved after the roof on the Metrodome collapsed.

Spokesman Kevin Smith says there's a lot to do and see. He says the biggest draw is the autograph sessions featuring nearly 60 current and former players. The list includes Joe Mauer, Jim Thome, Joe Nathan and Hall of Famers Rod Carew, Paul Molitor and Bert Blyleven. For the first time in its 23-year history, TwinsFest is sold out.

The Twins will honor former pitcher and current team broadcaster Bert Blyleven this summer by retiring his jersey No. 28. A ceremony will take place before the Twins-Rangers game at Target Field on July 16th. Blyleven's number will join Harmon Killebrew's No. 3, Kirby Puckett's No. 34, Rod Carew's No. 29, Tony Oliva's No. 6, and Kent Hrbek's No. 14. Blyleven was selected as a member of the 2011 National Baseball Hall of Fame and will be officially enshrined in Cooperstown on July 24th.
