Ellsworth High School's boys' basketball team was down 34-23 with 3:40 left in the third quarter Friday when they went on a 20-0 run at home and took down Highway 10 rival Durand.

"I knew it was a big run, but I wasn't aware it was that big," Ellsworth coach Cory Brathol said, adding that his team played stiff in the first half.

Jimmy Miska led Ellsworth (8-5 overall, 5-3 Middle Border Conference) in points with 12. He added six rebounds, also a team-high. Travis Kroll netted 11 points while Chris Niedfeldt scored nine.

The Panthers play host to St. Croix Central in a non-conference game tonight.
