UW sets new attendance record for women's hockey, beat Gophers 3-1

The most eye-catching number of the evening may have been 10,668 - the number of people in the stands at the Kohl Center, setting a new NCAA women's hockey attendance record.

The most eye-catching number of the evening may have been 10,668 - the number of people in the stands at the Kohl Center, setting a new NCAA women's hockey attendance record.
Sophomore Brianna Decker did the damage for the Badgers, scoring her ninth game-winning goal of the season. Wisconsin now hasn't tasted defeat in 14 games.
The physical game saw a dozen penalties between the two teams. Wisconsin's record is 24-2-2 after the weekend against the No. 4 Golden Gophers. Hilary Knight scored in the first 47 seconds of play. Carolyne Prevost also found the back of the net as did Brianna Decker.
Becky Kortum had the U's lone goal. Goalie Noora Raty made 42 saves. The Gophs' drop to 18-7-2 overall and 13-7-2 in the WCHA.
