MILWAUKEE - Marquette weathered a second half rally and posted an upset of number-nine ranked Syracuse Saturday by a 76-70 score.
Jae Crowder led all scorers with 25 points for the Golden Eagles. Marquette led at half, 42-31, but the Orangemen rallied to tie the score at 64. A Crowder layup put the Eagles back on top and they never trailed. Late-game three-pointers by Jimmy Butler and Darius Johnson-Odom kept Marquette in the lead.
The Eagles record improves to 14-8 overall, including a 5-4 mark in Big East play. The Orange lost its fourth game in a row.
