PC's contest at Colfax postponed, Elmwood plays tough vs. No. 11 Mondovi

The Plum City High School girls' basketball team's game at No. 7 ranked Colfax was postponned Monday due to the snowstorm. It has been rescheduled for Feb. 28 at 7:30 p.m.

Another Pierce County girls' hoops team that played a ranked opponent, Elmwood, gave the No. 11 ranked Buffaloes of Mondovi a good tussle before falling 53-42. Elmwood rallied from a 31-13 halftime deficit by outscoring Mondovi 29-22 in the second half. Kayla Smith scored 15 points to lead the Raiders and teammate Alison Pax had eight points. The difference in the ballgame was three pointers as Mondovi had five to Elmwood's zero.

Mondov's win put them a half-game behind Colfax in the D-SC standings, 9-0 to 9-1. Boyceville and St. Croix Central are tied for third with 7-3 records.

Spring Valley was off Monday. They play at home against Glenwood City Thursday. Also on Thursday Plum City is at Boyceville and Elmwood is at Elk Mound.
