Somerset took command of first place in the MBC with a 57-30 beatdown of Prescott at Somerset.

Meanwhile, Ellsworth was upended at Baldwin-Woodville 52-39. The loss pushes EHS all the way back to a fifth place tie with Amery at 3-4.

Already leading 25-19 at the half, Baldwin-Woodville outscored the visiting Panthers 14-7 in the third quarter.

Taylor Murphy and Shannon Campbell each scored nine points for the Panthers (7-8 overall, 3-4 Middle Border Conference). Abbey Ristow added six points and 15 rebounds.

Prescott fell two games back of 6-1 Somerset after losing to the Spartans Tuesday. Durand is in second with a 4-2 record after beating New Richmond 45-26. Osceola is 3-3 and in fourth place although the Chieftains lost 43-31 to Amery.
