Ellsworth High School hosts the 50th annual Middle Border Conference Wrestling Meet Saturday. Wrestling begins at 9:30 a.m. and runs all day.
The conference title is awarded to the winner of the meet and Ellsworth has won seven in a row. The No. 2 ranked Panthers have a good shot of winning their 33rd title in school history after finishing 7-0 in conference dual meets once again.
Defending MBC champs for Ellsworth include D.J. Yarwood, Levi Kuesel and Parker Hines. These three at their respective wight classes have very good chances of repeating as champions. Other potential champs for the Panthers are Jens Lantz at 103, Brent Stockwell at 119, Roarke Langer at 125, Tanner Eggenberger at 160, Noah McLay at 171 and Zac Reister at 215.
Prescott will also be competing Saturday and Josh Farr is a threat to win his first conference title at either 103 or 112. The same is true for Trevor Leyde in the lower weights as well.
